Online Training

Who needs to do it?
New Coordinators of new Operating Authorities (before licence is issued).
New Coordinators of exisitng Operating Authorities (within 60 days of taking charge of the OA)
Exisitng Coordinators (by mid-2013)
The online training is designed to help you, the Coordinator or leader, deliver the highest quality programme possible.
Passing the training is now a compulsory part of obtaining an Operating Authority Licence under our new quality assurance initiatives.
One of the advantages here is that you will always be able to go back and re-read the training modules to refresh your memory on important parts of The Award delivery, a bit like an online handbook.
It is free to engage with the training and we will send you a link to the modules once we have received your Operating Licence application.
Accessing the training is via the links below and we will also send you a username and password…you cannot change this password and after the training has been successfully completed we will send you a login and password for the Coordinators' Area of our website.
You will not need the log in details to access the training but at the end of each training module there will be a link to a test and you will need to log in to attempt the test.
You must achieve 80% to pass the test and once you reach the results page for a test you will not be able to return and re-do the quiz but if you fail to reach the pass mark you will be contacted by the Training and Development Director who will talk through your results and arrange for you to re-take the test.
If the Training & Development Director has not contacted you within 5 working days of attempting the training, please send an email to andy@dofehillary.org.nz
If you need to do the test verbally we can arrange this for you.
Training Modules: These are based on PowerPoint and do not need to be downloaded onto your computer, you can select “open” or “save”… they will open automatically if you click “open”. To read the modules use either mouse-clicks or the up/down or left/right arrows on your keyboard.
Please be aware: if you are using a Mac rather than a PC that does not have Microsoft Office installed, then the PowerPoint Training Modules will not work correctly. We advise accessing the training from a PC or installing MS Office on your Mac, unfortunately 'Open Source Copies' of PowerPoint will not work correctly.
Take your time and read through each of the modules carefully, there is a test at the end of each one and you need to get 80% to pass.
We suggest that you start with the Admin/Intro Module and finish with Adventurous Journey.
Existing Operating Authorities: You can take the test at any time but we need to have all our Coordinators trained by mid 2013 as part of our Quality Assurance processes. To do the training please send your name, email address and Coordinators username and password to andy@dofehillary.org.nz and we will contact you within 5 working days to confirm you are on the system and send you the training web link. Your training will be valid for you as a person, even if you change Operating Authority but whoever replaces you at your old one will need to do the training.
If you have no internet access: Please contact us and we will arrange some other way to train you, this may involve sending you some papers to read and talking you through the tests on the phone or by you submitting written answers or you can get a young person to help you access the online training via an internet café or school computer.
